I’ve Moved

Don’t worry. I’m still in Port Barton. I haven’t bailed on the program, but I’ve moved from town to the beach (the whole 10ish blocks?)  The place I was in was nice and it was clean, but I’m only here for a couple more months before I return to winter in Canada. I’m going to live as close to the ocean as I can while I can damn it!!  I paid for my current place until the end of the month, but I chose to move to the beach now so I could get the 2 month rate. My friend Joy laughs at how fancy I am with my town home and my beach home.  It’s crazy.  With the 2 places I’m paying $18 a night which includes breakfast at the new place.

I know $18 is nothing to me, but it’s probably a lot of money for people in Port Barton.  Sometimes I wonder though who is truly happier?  There are people here who have been born here and will stay here for the rest of their lives. They’ll breathe this amazingly fresh air, live with this amazing scenery and have a community that they are a part of that will always take care of them.  They might not have a lot, but many people here seem quite happy and content.  Talk to any kid here though, and their dream is to go to North America.   In North America many of us spend most of our waking lives in jobs that we may not particularly like or just have no pasion for just so we can have the latest gadgets or go on a vacation to get a break from the lifestyle we’ve created. My cousin in Manila told me about his friend who moved to Canada who is lonely and depressed.  North America isn’t turning out to be the “promised land” he thought it would be. It’s a conversation that has come up a lot while I’ve been here.  I guess maybe it’s just in our human nature to want the things that we don’t have.

So, instead of wising for something I don’t have, I’m going to be totally thankful for this beach place that I do have for the next couple of months.  Not working, learning about things I’m actually interested in, living by the ocean and swimming in it multiple times a day . . . I’m feeling like one of the luckiest girls around at the moment!!!

I’m at a resort called “Deep Gold”.  My shack is the 3rd one from the left.
Welcome to my home!!
Here’s the view from my deck where I sit while doing homework or posting on the blog.
The bathroom ceiling is totally clear, so . . . .
. . . . . this is what I look at when I’m sitting on the toilet doing my “buisness” : )

This is where I plan to read all about the 3rd chakra this afternoon : )
