The Party’s Just Begun : )

Tonight is my last night in my 30’s!  It’s funny how long I have been dreading this birthday, but tonight I’m actually looking forward to it!  This birthday was part of what prompted this whole journey. I’m guessing I’m not alone and 40 may be a hard milestone for women to cross, especially if they don’t have kids or aren’t married.  Whether or not they even want these things, I think it is still ingrained in our society that this is just what people do and should have done before they reach this age.  Maybe I’m wrong!  I have discovered that I am “good” at assuming I know what other people are thinking and basing my actions on how I think they will react.  Yep . . . . just one of many things I have learned that I need to work on!

I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for when I decided to take this break.  I just knew that I needed an adventure, but part of what I’ve found is meeting people who are 40ish or older who are doing cool things or living different lifestyles or are still figuring things out but are happy and are just enjoying the ride.  I think I really needed to see this.  There are so many possibilities out there, and even if I don’t figure it all out right now, it’s ok : )

My last day in my 30’s was a good one.  One of the many things I love about living in the tropics is how easy it is (for me, I’m guessing B-Rod would still have a hard time) to wake up early.  I’ve been naturally waking up between 5-5:30AM.  I usually get out of bed and open my front door to let the light in and most days I actually stay up to do some kind of practice.  This morning I woke up to find the sun rising and the fullish moon setting.  It was pretty cool.  I took a bunch of pictures and discovered a bunch of features that I played around with on the camera (don’t worry . . . . . I’ve only included a few pics here.  B-Rod will have to sit through the slide show of the many pictures of the different sunrise pictures I took).

Later in the day after our last yoga class, Kirsty’s oldest son Kai sheepishly came over to our class.  He was hiding something behind his back.  We assumed it was some kind of animal as the boys have showed up with kittens, then chicks, and we’re just waiting to see what animals they come back with next.  It turned out to be an early birthday present for me.  It was so sweet!  So, Kai has officially kicked off my birthday celebrations.  I have a few things planned for tomorrow – you’ll have to wait for the next blog post to find out more : )  Then the following day is our “graduation” party as the teacher training ends this week and the healer’s course starts next week.  As we are a day ahead here and technically that will be my birthday back home, I’ve decided the graduation party (whatever that may entail!) will also be a part of my birthday celebrations.  So, let the party begin!!

Nope, that’s not the sun . . . . that’s the moon.  It was pretty incredible.
Playing around with the camera and the moon . . . . .
I wanted to spell Love, but I couldn’t get the L and the E to work.
Wow!!
Can you believe this is the view when I step outside onto my porch in the morning?  I feel like the luckiest girl ever!!!
How sweet is that?
