Into week three of our program this week . . . air . . . the mental aspect. It’s our last week of talking. Next week we will go into silence. Last week was the water element and all about emotions. DawnO and I did a breath course and it brought up a lot of emotions (breath work always does). It was a shortened version of a practice I did in my yoga teacher training in the Philippines, but I learned some new things and techniques and am inspired to bring back a lot more breath work into my classes, as well as into my own life.
We were commenting the other day about how our days have become a bit like Groundhog Day – pretty much the same or similar things everyday. Not that this is a bad thing. It just means we’re settling into our routine. I did check off two things off the list of “things to do” when in San Marcos. Went to a cacao ceremony with Keith the “chocolate shaman” and had my aura read by Dr. Bill. Feel free to ask me more about this when I get back : )
Today we went to what could be our last kirtan at another yoga center called Kaivalya (sad as it’s pretty awesome) . . . not our last kirtan, just our last kirtan at this place. We also took a couple of our classmates with us to our little local place to eat where Dawn practiced her Spanish and got us invited to go to another town tomorrow to visit the owner’s sister’s new baby. Yeah DawnO!!
Besides this, I’ve just found myself enjoying the simple things in life. Chatty (our teacher) is always talking about finding the clicks – the things that make sense for us and our life. Right now one of my clicks is just enjoying the present moment and allowing myself to just be me.
So many different things to do here. Many walls around with posters of classes you can take, readings you can have, or therapies you can try.

Bottoms up . . . . cacao for the soul.

Some of the simple things in life include . . . . . spending the afternoon in a hammock reading a book, . . . .
. . . . . watching the butterflies in the garden and finding their group sleeping spot, . . . .
. . . . . catching the sunrise and being amazed even though it is cloudy, and . . . .
. . . . . spending an afternoon sitting on the dock watching the world go by..
DawnO and I had fun watching the boys. They were checking out the dead fish in the lake. One boy was encouraged to jump in to fetch the fish. If it was too stinky, it got tossed back into the lake.
