Doing Business

Nothing special happening today. So, I thought I might show you what I am actually doing here! I’ve never had the opportunity before to fill out a customs card where I check the purpose of my visit is business!

I’ve developed an online course for new Korean ESL teachers introducing them to and giving them basic information about how to teach ESL to children.  Before I came here I put together 11 lessons.  That was the easy part – research and putting things together into a neat little package is one of my strengths.  The part I was not looking forward to, and was in fact dreading, was the part I’m in now – filming these lectures so they can go online.  Before I came here I was told to make lectures that were 15-20 minutes long.  I did some practicing in Canada to ensure the information I was including was not going to go
too much over 20 minutes.  I got here and it turns out they want the lectures to last at least 30 minutes.  SHIZA!!  Fortunately, somehow I surprised myself.  Somehow this girl of few words has been able to ramble and babble for an extra 10-15 minutes!  Unbelievable I know!!  Here are some shots from around the office.

This is an office that is one floor below.  Interesting!
Entrance to the office I am working in
I get to see Mr. Choi waving to me every morning when I come in : )  I have a temporary space straight through to where the window is (spoiled foreigner!!)
CH hard at work.

Getting ready to film.

What filming looks like from my point of view.

Goofing off at work.

Lunch – I used to hate “fish with a face” when I was a kid, but this was delicious!!

Supper – only 2 rounds of eating today.  I’m slowing down!!
