The past week in the course, we were learning about different topics, some of which I know a bit about, some of which was new to me and some of which I would like to delve a bit deeper into in the future. Continuing with my theme of “while in San Marcos . . . . . ” I had a Reiki treatment by a local Guatemalan woman and I have been practicing my Reiki skills – I think I’ll be ready to give treatments when I’m back!! I also had a biodecoding reading/treatment. Something I haven’t heard of before, but it was all about working with the family tree and looking at ancestral patterns and how they affect you. Pretty interesting stuff. Again, feel free to ask me about it when I’m home.
Besides classes, events and treatments, DawnO and I have done our fair share of exploring. We’re both similar travelers and it is important for us to get out of the tourist areas and see how people in the country actually live. Thanks to DawnO’s constantly improving and evolving Spanish skills, we have gotten to know the owners of our local food shop we frequent. The sister (it’s a brother and sister who own the restaurant) was quite pregant, and when we stopped by and found out she had her baby, her brother invited us to the neighboring town to see her. We loved the town so much, we went back again later to explore it on our own. We also spent some time exploring the actual town of San Marcos which is a bit further up than the tourist town of San Marcos.
Tomorrow is a jam packed day, but I’ll let you in on the details of that later. As of Monday I will be in silence and away from all technology & communication. SSSSSHHHHHHH!! See you on the other side : )
The pyramid where all our classes, yoga and meditations are held.
Waiting to go into classes.
Meeting baby Benjamin (6 days old). This is truly an example of how kind, open and welcoming the people here are.

Life looks so colourful there! I'm glad it's shaping up to be another awesome experience. Happy Anniversary!
Piddy out.
