Just a quick post while I have access to internet. Wanted to pass along the message that I am fine. We did move up to higher ground yesterday and went to my teacher’s house on the hill in the jungle. We were basically squatting as he wasn’t here this weekend. It was a good thing as the waves came up pretty close to my beach front property. The wall in front has been ripped away. The worst part for me was not having access to internet at that time (it wasn’t working), and I just really wanted to let B-Rod and my parents know I was ok. Luckily my cousin in Manila had a connection and was able to pass along the message.
Palawan was on the outer edge of the storm, so I don’t think it was too bad here. The center was closer to my mom’s area – the same one that had the earthquake last month. My cousin is keeping me updated, but as of now she still hasn’t heard from anyone in San Carlos (electricity and phones are down). I’m hoping for the best.
I’ll post more about it later along with our night prior to that experiencing karaoke in the Philippines. Stay tuned for more : )
