I’ve grown to love the openness of the prairies, but I love more the landscape of the mountains, lakes and TREES!!!! We started late, took it slow and simply watched the changes go by.
Open blue sky and cloud formations to . . . . . . . . the majesty of the mountains to . . .
. . . . SNOW 😮 on Rogers Pass (as long as it’s only for just a very short time and I can still feel comfortable wearing a tank top!)
We ended up in Revelstoke and started the first part of our trip on our own. Didn’t get up to much. Rolled in around supper time, wandered around downtown, stayed the night, had a nice breakfast and hit the road. It’s a nice town and it was good to be amongst the trees.
Some of the highlights included staying across the street from this guy! I didn’t travel the TransCanada much when I was growing up, but I vividly remember as a child every time we would pass by this guy 😝Of course I would like this place
Fuelin’ up before heading back on the road.
The great thing about road trips is stopping when and where you want. It was smoking hot even early in the morning (yes!!), so as we started to make our way to the Shuswap region and pass by the lakes, it was a no brainer to stop to dip our toes in and then eventually jump in for a swim.
We eventually made our way to our first destination . . . . Kamloops. Kamloops has been called the friendliest in BC and nature’s playground. It is a beautiful city, but a large draw of Kamloops for us is to hang out with these guys.
So, we spent time letting M do my hair and eating hot dogs at her science camp, and . . . .
. . . watching A score goals at his hockey camp (where I froze my toes off because my bro convinced me that wearing flip flops in a hockey rink was a good idea)
We also got away now and then just to wander around, enjoy the city and to meet up with one of my best buds from university.
Kamloops . . . you’re simply AMAZING!!!
